TAVISTOCK mayor Norma Woodcock was guest of honour at Tavistock Athletic Club?s presentation evening last Saturday. Athletes of all ages from eight to 70 were present, showing that Tavistock AC is serving the whole community.
Chairman Neil McClung paid tribute to the work of the coaches who put so much time and effort into giving the juniors a quality athletics experience which he hoped would set them up for a lifetime of good physical activity.
Special mention was made of four junior athletes, Kathryn Dolton, Bethan Shillabeer, Adam Tofield and Kayleigh Wonnacott who, having undergone coaching training, are now bringing a new vigour and enthusiasm to the Tuesday night training sessions.
After presenting the awards, Cllr Woodcock was thanked with a bouquet presented by junior member Charlotte Herdman.
Cllr Woodcock expressed her delight at seeing so many athletes enjoying their activities and thanked Tavistock AC for their services to the town.

Cross Country - Junior male: Alex Richards.
The U17 men?s team of Luke Dumper, Adam Holland and Adam Tofield won the Westward League team prize in their age group.
