GIVE Poverty The Boot was the theme for the harvest service at Christchurch in Brentor with the aim of raising lots of money for Farmafrica.

Children from Brentor and Mary Tavy turned out to decorate the church with old boots and flowers and foliage and every windowsill was filled to the brim!

After the harvest family service led by Rev Paula Rennie, everyone tucked into a brunch of bacon and sausage baps, and then the children set up a shoe cleaning area and they also had baked lots of delicious boot biscuits which they sold.

Jennifer Venning had crafted a beautiful wheatsheaf which was auctioned together with produce donated by members of the congregation.

At the end of the morning over £200 was donated for Farmafrica, which supports farmers in Africa in a practical way with seeds and equipment.
