THERE's an opportunity to help a friend or family member gain a valuable skill this Christmas.

Parklands Leisure Centre in Okehampton is selling vouchers which can be put towards lessons and courses at the centre.

Courses available include adult and baby swimming sessions, children's swimming lessons, lifesaving courses, water polo and competitive swimming coaching, and water confidence or improvement lessons for adults. You could even help someone achieve their new year resolutions with advanced adult lessons to encourage fitness and wellbeing.

Lesley Muir, business manager at Parklands Leisure Centre, said:  'Swimming is a fantastic way to keep active and stay healthy but not everyone feels confident in water.  These lessons are fantastic for swimmers of all abilities to improve and become more confident in the water.'
