DURING a visit to Tavistock in 1977 by Prince Charles, he asked what there was for young people to do here. I called out ?Nothing!?, which caused much amusement. Today, the same answer could be given to the same question as then, 28 years ago, which is no longer amusing. Tavistock needs something for the 18+, there are various clubs for under 18s, but little for over 18s. I went to King?s on Sunday evening and thought King?s were very patient with the vocal minority who were, at first, not prepared to listen, only to object. What is proposed should be allowed to be given a chance, not condemned outright before anything's been 100% decided. I understand the concerns of the residents, but wouldn't they prefer knowing where their older ?children? are than worrying over where they might have gone because there's nowhere for them here?
