Callington 1
A GOOD game for Tavistock Ladies' second hockey team, who attacked the Callington goal from the start. The Callington goalie did well to resist the pressure but a goal from Cath Collar following accurate passing from the Tavistock forwards set the seal on the match.
Callington replied with a splendid shot from their centre forward but this was the last time they were allowed near the goal.
A goal from Sue Gawman just before half-time gave Tavistock the lead they deserved.
Tavistock have been guilty of losing concentration in the second half but not in this match. The scoring was opened again by Lisa Butler who executed a sole run through the Callington defence and slotted the ball into the goal.
Tavistock maintained the pressure and scored twice more — another for Cath Collar and one for Isabel Lamb who had patiently waited for the opportune goal from the corner.
This match was a good confidence boost for Tavistock for the rest of the season.
