A TALENTED soccer team from Tavistock College is taking to the pitch at RAF Cosford near Wolverhampton today (Thursday), having reached the semi-finals of a national competition. The girls? team is now one of just four schools in the country left in the English Schools Football Association (ESFA) RAF U16 Cup ? 64 teams originally entered the competition. Tavistock beat three schools in the Devon rounds, before taking on sides from Cornwall, Gloucestershire, Dorset and Oxfordshire to reach the semi-finals, when they play Aylsham High School. Colin Eves, Tavistock College principal, said: ?I am delighted with the ongoing success of the girls ? this reflects their hard work and the skill, enthusiasm and commitment of their coach, Clare Crowther. ?I believe the team has the capability not only to win the semi-final but to go all the way and become national champions.? The team is Robynne Honey, Clarice Payne, Rhianne Parsons, Louise Galway, Laura Phillips, Laura Corales, Monica Les, Paige McGechie, Isobel De Carles, Rebecca McMullin, Heidi Davies, Sarah Lucas and Tamsin Bryant.
