Tavistock Girls . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .3
Tamarside Girls . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .5
THIS was the girls? first ever run out as a team and they presented themselves well. Play at first went from end to end but Tamarside were quick on the attack and they soon broke through to slot in a fine goal.
Tavistock fought back and constant battling from Jolene Piper saw Olivia Hodge dribble the ball through the defence and equalise. Fiona McCall was caught out by an awkward bounce and Tamarside went ahead again. Lotty Ayland joined play and despite her size battled away furiously and set up some great moves, one of which Piper latched onto, pushing the ball past the keeper.
A short while later a goal mouth scramble saw the ball over the line, but the referee played on and Tamarside cleared the ball out.
Tamarside put in some strong runs and another short distance shot found the mark. Tavistock fought back and Campbell struck a long strong shot to find the back of the net.
Tamarside replied again with another well taken goal, but for their first ever run out Tavistock showed their potential.
Player of the match went to Jolene Piper.
