Ocean League under 12s Tavistock 6 Lipson United 0 COMING back from the Christmas break the girls were full of running and superb passing skills saw Tavistock on top form. Chances were soon created by great running from Gale and Glasspoole and Rose came close but just shot wide. In defence Hammond and Shaw formed an excellent partnership and with the backup of Gordon, keeper Foster had a quiet 15 minutes. Lipson were strong in defence and it took a power strike from Shaw to slip through the keeper?s fingers. Tavistock dominated play with Rose ploughing through the defence and Gale set up Rose to make it 2-0. Shaw got her foot to a cross from Glasspoole to get her second and Gale made a terrifc run, picked her spot and struck into the top of the net. Eales slotted into defence and used her speed to beat the fast Lipson striker to the ball. In the latter part of the first half Foster made a number of saves to keep Tavistock well into the lead. Rose struck again shortly before half time to make it 5-0. The second half saw some changes and it was nice to welcome back Bassett in defence. Lipson began to settle and strong challenges saw the ball break through to a fast winger but Foster got a hand to the shot and then saved the second shot which Hammond finally cleared. Gordon moved to right wing and after a number of good runs finally saw her shot hit the back of the net. A fine performance against top of the league. Player of the match went to Katie Glasspoole.
