WITH the festive season approaching, Girlguiding in Tavistock is launching its Christmas postal service this weekend.

Tavistock's Brownies and Guides offer to deliver Christmas cards for the price of a 20p stamp. Their special stamps are available from all members of Girlguiding Tavistock and from Saturday the stamps are also available from various locations in Tavistock, including Cards for Good Causes in the United Reformed Church, Pillars Newsagents, Tavistock Launderette, Mainly Stationary, Lake Pharmacy, Superdrug, Tavyside Health Centre and Spar in Ford Street.

Special blue boxes are located at these outlets and in Tavistock Methodist Church and the Guide headquarters at the entrance to the main town car park.

The last posting will be at 5pm on Friday December 17, after which the cards will be sorted and ready for delivery over the weekend of December 18 and 19.

The delivery area includes all roads within Tavistock and Whitchurch only. The guides regret they are unable to deliver to outlying areas or surrounding villages.

If anyone has any questions about the Guides' Christmas Post scheme, or guiding in general, contact Kate Harding on 01822 613661 or Lorraine Orton on 01822 615552.
