A YOUNG band are hoping to gain some fans and make a name for themselves in West Devon as they embark on a number of gigs in and around the area.

The modern rock-style band Ten Zero One are busy rehearsing for several gigs they have lined up over the next few months, including supporting Tavistock band Kitty and the Lost Boys and a small festival.

Ten Zero One comprises Max Williams on bass and lead vocals, Charlie Smith on lead guitar and vocals, Gary Lawrence-James on drums and Jack Rawlings on guitar and vocals. The boys are all 13 years old but have been playing as a gigging band for six months.

The band originally formed as a three-piece with Max, Jack and Gary at Tavistock College School Music Club in December 2009. Charlie joined the band later in May 2010.

Ten Zero One have come up with some original songs among their ever increasing and varied set and are looking to record an album of originals soon.

They will be supporting Kitty and the Lost Boys at the Tavistock Inn on February 25 at 9pm. They have also been invited to play at Livewire in Saltash on March 10 and at Lapstock Festival in Lapford on June 17.

Ten Zero One are currently looking for more gigs at pubs, festivals and music events. Anyone who would like to contact the boys for a booking should email [email protected]">[email protected]
