PULL on your walking boots and head to Cotehele to celebrate autumn and explore the great outdoors this weekend.
As part of the National Trust's great British Walk, staff at Cotehele have organised a number of walks around the estate until Sunday.
Head ranger Joe Lawrence said: 'Autumn is a great time of year for walkers to come out and enjoy the natural environment together. There's nothing like bundling up warm and feeling the leaves crunch underfoot while learning from those who work on the land everyday.'
Cotehele's programme, which started last weekend, includes walks ranging from two to nine miles.
The walking festival also includes an exploration of the Bere Peninsula tomorrow (Friday). The start point can be reached by train from Calstock, returning across the river Tamar to CoteheleQuay by boat. There's also a five-mile perambulation of the Cotehele estate with Ranger Joe on Saturday (November 2), and a walk in JMW Turner's footsteps to Calstock and Gunnislake before returning to Cotehele on Sunday (November 3). Many of the walks are free to the public.
