ORGANISERS are hoping for a record number of high quality exhibits at this month?s Bere Alston Gardening Club?s annual show. Despite the mixed summer weather the show committee hope many exhibits will improve on last year?s show where entries were down compared to the successful events of recent years. Whilst concentrating on flowers, fruit and vegetables there are classes for handicrafts, cooking and preserves. There will also be sections for both primary and secondary school age groups. The show opens to the public on Wednesday, September 13 at 2.15pm in the Bere Alston Parish Hall. New entries are welcome. For show schedules visit Bere Alston shops and businesses or contact the show?s secretary on 01822 840425. Visitors to the show can make their way to see the entries on display by using the Tamar Valley Line to Bere Alston. The train leaves Gunnislake at 1410, Calstock at 1422 and Bere Alston at 1652.
