DUCK numbers for the 'famous' duck race in Buckland Monachorum will be on sale for one week at Yelverton shopping parade from this Saturday. The race, held by St Andrew's School PTA, is being staged on the school playing fields in Buckland Monachorum from 10.30am to 1pm on Monday, May 5. Activities include archery, a bouncy castle, a mini rollercoaster ride, laser shooting, skittles, maypole dancing and the local morris dancing group, along with many stalls selling crafts, cakes and plants. The day will also see the introduction of a 'Drake's Dash' and 'Fun Run' — entry forms are available at the school. Both runs start at 11.30am and entry number issuing, will be done on the day before 11am. Fancy dress is optional. Stallholders and car booters are welcome.
