NEIGHBOURHOOD police beat managers have just been announced for the West Devon area, following new appointments by Devon and Cornwall Police.

Chief Inspector Tony Steer says there are now nine neighbourhood beat manager?s officers stationed at Tavistock, and five at Okehampton.

He said all these officers, some of whom will already be well known to local residents, will now be working hard to forge links with their communities.

Okehampton gained an additional police post in August and Tavistock gained an extra officer last month.

Neighbourhood beat officers for the southern area of the borough are Larry Base in Tavistock north; Simon Raeburn, Tavistock south; Rick Hartigan, Bere Alston/Bere Ferrers; Becca Deane, Horrabridge; Steve Bradfield, Princetown; Nicky Lawson, Lamerton and Milton Abbot; Dave Barker, Lifton; Graham Callender, Mary Tavy, and Bob Bone, Buckland Monachorum and Dousland.

Beat officers in the north of the borough are Dave Woodland in Okehampton town; Mark Hoar, Hatherleigh; Dave Langsford, North Tawton; Jill Steer, Chagford and rural and Dave Methven, Okehampton rural west.
