OKEHAMPTON Library have given their activities for the under 5s a new look for 2006. There will be a storytime for those aged five and under every morning at 10.30am followed by free coffee and biscuits for their carers. Pre-school story times are old favourites in many libraries and give toddlers an opportunity to experience a variety of stories in a different setting from home. Bounce and rhyme sessions will take place on the second Tuesday of the month at 11am following the storytime and giving the opportunity to have a chat with other mums and carers. Among the newer ventures is Baby Book Crawl, guaranteed to get even the youngest members of the family hooked on books, with a set of bright and colourful posters to collect, rewarding babies and toddlers for their visits to the library. Parents are encouraged to bring their children into the library from birth onwards. With this in mind, the library has a ranges of services specially designed for its youngest members, with the emphasis on fun. All the sessions are free.
