THE Tavy 7 has now filled all of its places and is sold out. The 7 mile road race, organised by Tavistock AC, is being held on Sunday starting at noon.

Theclub increased the race limit this year but have still been overwhelmed by entries. They have been returning postal applications since last Friday and will not accept any entries on the day.

The 1.5 mile Fun Run, which starts at 12.05pm, will only accept entries on the day and there is no limit for this event.

Tavistock AC?s membership which has steadily grown over the past 12 months.

In parallel with this, and in order to meet the varying needs of its membership, Tavistock AC is developing its coaching structure and resources accordingly.

They are about to launch their new coaching set up and are training more coaches: only last weekend 6 club members attended their UK Athletics Level 2 coaching workshop in Ivybridge and soon they will be qualified to lead training groups and strengthen the existing team of coaches who operate across all sections of the club.

It will be all hands on the pump to entertain all of those who will be turning up for the Tavy 7 this weekend. The race itself may have sold out but there is still plenty of space along the course to cheer on the runners. The race starts and finishes on Whitchurch Down: anyone coming along by car should get there early and avoid Whitchurch, approaching the race from other directions to avoid gridlock in the village.
