THE Anthony Nolan Trust is calling all cyclists to the start line to enter its annual cycle challenge across Dartmoor. With four routes to choose from this ride is simply the best of any across the whole year. Being held on July 10 in what hopes to be stunning weather these four routes take cyclists across Dartmoor?s most beautiful lanes, long open stretches, scenery and landmarks. With a choice of 5, 10, 20+ or 50+ miles there is literally something for everyone. With all routes starting and finishing at the Dartmoor Prison Museum there is a chance to include all the family to set off together and meet back at the same place, whatever route you take. All the routes are all on-road and suitable for all bikes. The Anthony Nolan Trust will provide marshalls, water stops, cycle repair, first aid, clear signs and certificates to prove your achievement! The 50-mile route takes in some of the more challenging hills of Dartmoor, but also some of the most breathtaking views across the more barren parts of this mystical moor. This route takes the best part of a day to complete but passes great inns and cafes to stop for well deserved breaks. The 20-mile route is great for scenery and a good challenge, going through Tavistock and cutting across the moor this ride is perfect for groups. The ten-mile route is short but tough ? with a ride downhill to start but returning up a long slow monster! Great fun, challenging, perfect for those who cannot spare the whole day but want to test themselves. The five-mile route is great for children and families with attached cycles. Mainly flat and achievable this is a nice ride for the morning to enjoy the fresh open air that this enchanting National Park provides. Each adult pays £10 to enter and each child under 14 pays just £2.50 to enter. It is then hoped that each person will raise as much money as possible for the charity. Why not get a team together from work, your family or friends?
