WITH summer out of the way, the festive season is fast approaching and for the Friends of Calstock Parish Churches, thoughts are turning to the next Christmas Tree Festival.

Last year the Christmas tree festival was held in St Andrew’s Church, Calstock, where 25 local businesses and organisations provided and decorated a tree in a style of their choice.

Many visitors attended to see, enjoy and admire the displays over the three days, which was enhanced by live music and refreshments.

This year’s festival will be hosted by St Anne’s Church in Gunnislake, from December 11 to 13 and organisers are now inviting organisations, charities and businesses to sign up to take part.

There is no charge to enter, but each group buys its own tree and decorations and is responsible for taking it away after the event. Closing date for groups to enter the festival is November 9.
