IT'S time to practise the swing for the early spring and show some support for some important Okehampton charities. Okehampton Rotary Club are once again all set to host one of their two golf days at Ashbury Golf Club. The first one will be held on Wednesday April 16 on the Kigbeare Course. Rotarian Ian Bailey said: 'Spring is just around the corner, it's time to take out the golf clubs and dust them off, practise that swing and get some good exercise. 'Combine this with raising money for local charities and you have the perfect excuse for a good day out.' A team of four costs £100 and includes the green fee, a bacon bap, coffee on arrival, use of a buggy and a two course meal. At the evening prize giving, a free light buffet will be available. Organiser Ian Courtney added: 'We think this is very good value. 'We are very lucky that all the facilities are donated by Manor House Hotel and we are therefore able to raise a good deal of money that we can put directly into local clubs and groups to make a real difference in our community.' Anyone who would like to enter a team and enjoy a good day's golf should call 01837 82890 or e-mail Ian Courtney on [email protected]">[email protected]
