THERE?S an opportunity to get the Christmas party season started early next month ? and raise vital funds for charity at the same time. Sourton Parish Hall is the venue for a dance and buffet on December 3, which will raise funds for the hall, Sourton Church and West Devon-based charity RAPID UK. The RAPID team has just returned from a highly successful rescue mission in earthquake-affected Pakistan ? but left valuable equipment behind to benefit local people. RAPID relies totally on the generosity of donors and a hard-working team of fundraisers and will need to replace some of the equipment left abroad, so the social event will be an ideal opportunity to raise funds while having a good time.
