FOLLOWING the success of last year's carnival photographic competition, the Lions Club of Tavistock has decided to run it again this year — so here is advance warning to all those keen photographers in the area to start taking photographs with this year's competition in mind.

There will be two age categories, the first for those aged 16 years and under where the subject will be 'Pets and Wild Life' and second for those over 16 where the subject is 'Tavistock and Dartmoor from any angle'. Further details will be published in the Times in due course.

Tavistock Carnival starts this year on Friday, July 9 with a Rock n' Roll Jive night in the town hall culminating with the grand procession on Saturday July 17 when the theme will be 'Let's Celebrate'.
