TIME is running out for entries in South West Lakes Trust?s Christmas card competition.

The environmental charity, based in Lewdown, has invited school children to design cards on the theme of Nature at Christmas.

The deadline for the competition ? which is open to children from pre-school to year 8 or 14 years of age ? is Monday, March 3. The winning cards will become the trust?s official Christmas cards for 2003, and will be on sale at their lakeside shops.

The winner will win a discount on transport costs for their class to visit one of the lakes managed by the trust, and a free study/activity day.

And each of the three winners will also receive vouchers to spend in the trust?s shops or wildlife study guides to the same value.

The winning designs will be chosen by Lady Mary Holborow, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, and Keith Bungay, formerly of Exmoor National Park.

Entries can be in any medium, but must be in portrait format and no larger than A4 size. They should be sent to Liz Eagle at South West Lakes Trust, Higher Coombepark, Lewdown, Okehampton, Devon, EX20 4QT.
