MASTERCHEF Peter Gorton from The Horn of Plenty at Gulworthy is one of those taking part in the Devon's Great Big Dinner Party event, being backed by BBC Radio Devon this month.
The radio station is hoping as many people as possible will get involved with the event, on April 23, by holding a dinner party and raising money for Devon Air Ambulance.
Recipes have been provided by some of the best known Devon-based chefs in the country, like Mitch Tonks, Peter Gorton and James Knight.
Mitch from Seahorse in Dartmouth has provided the starter of scallops, Peter has produced a vegetarian main course of herb crepes with sweet potato, goats cheese and a tomato saffron sauce and the all important dessert of crème brulee with exotic fruit dice, whilst James Knight has devised a main course of pan roasted pork tenderloin, braised saged apple, carraway carrots with wholegrain mustard sauce.
To take part, participants must obtain an event pack, which includes a menu, recipe sheets and invitations which can be sent out to friends or family.
Sarah Solftley, assistant editor of BBC Radio Devon said: 'We hope guests will help raise more than a toast at the end of the evening by giving a donation towards the BBC Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal.
'BBC Radio Devon will be broadcasting a special show on the night, so you can join the dinner parties taking place at Judi Spiers' house, and at Matt Woodley's house in Okehampton.
' There will also be a dinner party at the Steve Ford Airbase at Eaglescott, home of the Devon Air Ambulance airbase in North Devon. A team of reporters will also be out and about visiting those hosts who are brave enough to let us into their kitchens.'
Caroline Creer, fundraising director of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust said: 'We are really looking forward to this event, which falls on St George's Day, a great day to celebrate in style, with good company and great food.
'So far the joint campaign with BBC Radio Devon has raised over £11,000 but with your help we can add to this.'
