Devon Cup Tavistock RFC U15s 22 Sidmouth RFC U15s 7 TAVISTOCK ran out worthy winners in this Devon Cup match where George Harold was a deserved man of the match. Early pressure saw the home side pin the visitors in their own 22 where Josh Leeson kicked a penalty to put the first points on the board. The visitors applied pressure but good tackling saw Tavistock keep them at bay. Tavistock ran in the first try after good driving runs by the forwards saw the ball fed out to Phil Snell who broke down the wing before offloading to Elliot Northmore to run in the first try. Following a scrum on halfway Tom Rickard made a break only to be caught five metres out. Tavistock tried to take a quick penalty but the visitors infringed and the referee awarded a penalty try, which Josh Leeson converted. As the half drew to a close a superb tackle by Sam Lindsey prevented the visitors from touching down in the corner. Early in the second half Sidmouth pressure paid off with a try under the posts which was converted. Elliot Northmore was denied his second try by a great tackle in the corner, but after a scrum, a drive by the forwards enabled Tom Rickard to score under the posts. Josh Leeson converted. In the closing minutes Sidmouth pressed but the Tavistock defence held firm.
