A COLLECTION of paintings by Tavistock artist Arthur Read which used to adorn the Bedford Hotel is being auctioned for charity next week.
Six oil paintings and a print were donated by the new owners of the hotel and will go under the hammer on Friday, November 19.
Local auctioneer Russell Woolcock will oversee the proceedings at the Bedford Hotel.
There are several woodland scenes, a shepherd with his flock of sheep and one of Abbey Bridge in Tavistock.
The print is west Tavistock looking towards the Catholic church in Callington Road.
The proceeds will go to Tavistock's Rotary Club and the NSPCC.
Viewing is at 7pm with tea or coffee and the auction will begin at 8pm.
