SAMARITANS of Exeter, Mid and East Devon have expressed their thanks to the people of Chagford and Okehampton who generously gave money to their recent street collection.
On September 4, volunteers collected £142.13 in Chagford, and on September 27, £155.68 was given by people in Okehampton.
These donations will help Samaritans to continue to give their 24-hours a day, 365-days a year availability to those who may be suffering a crisis in their lives, and who may even be suicidal.
The branch has about 90 volunteers who man a rota and are available to answer the phone or receive personal callers and e-mails.
