MAY we thank all those generous people who donated to Cancer Research UK during the collection weekend.
The weather on Friday was appalling, leaving the street collectors soaked and dispirited ? we even had to pour the water out of one collecting tin before we could count the contents!
Once again we were grateful that Safeway gave us permission to collect at their store and this produced a generous response.
We wish particularly to thank the gentleman who handed in a carrier bag full of small change and want him to know that his ?collection? amounted to £11.
The final total was £1,591.21 for which we are most grateful.
