A FAMILY dog show last week by Spooners and West Dartmoor was deemed a tremendous success by its organisers.
The Country Show on Sunday, April 26 at Bickham House, near Yelverton, saw many entries.
Dog show winners were: Pedigree classes: Any variety puppy, Dora, a Pointer, owned by Paige; Any variety non-sporting, Charlie, Chihuahua, Jenny Symons; Any variety sporting, Alfie, Deerhound, Denise Southcott; Any variety open, Mischa, Alsatian, Mia.
Terrier classes: Smooth coat, Maggie, a Jack Russell, owned by Claire Stevens; Rough coat, July, Border x, Jade.
Fun classes: Dog with waggiest tail: Gizmo a Papillon, owned by Ann Quick; Dog with best movement, Oona, Springer Spaniel, Rachael; Dog with floppiest ears, Isla, Cavalier King Charles, Sue Baker; the best child handler, Rainbow, Sharpei, Annabelle; Prettiest bitch, Fleur, Pointer, Mrs P Cooke-Hurle; Most handsome dog, Pip, Spaniel, Scarlet; Most obedient dog, Chance, Border Collie, Kay Allen; Dog with best trick, Gizmo, Papillon, Anne Quick; Most disobedient dog, Dexter, chocolate Labrador, Betty; Dog who works for a living, Dotty, Labrador x Collie, Katie Barkell; Dog in best condition, Gemma, Labrador, Sally Penfold; Veteran dog over 7-years-old, Charlie, Jack Russell; Best matched pair, Purdy and Tiny, Springer Spaniels, Kev; Opposite/unmatched pair, Gizmo and Gypsy, Anne Quick; Most appealing eyes, Jig, Lurcher, Mr Rodgerson.
Championship: Supreme champion: Gemma a black Labrador owned by Sally Penfold; Reserve champion Dora, English Pointer, owned by Mrs Paige.
