The Mutton Corner Fundraisers are a committee made up by the landlord of the Leg O' Mutton Inn, Howard Boulter, and some of his regulars who are planning a street party for up to 100 local children on June 3.
The group has already applied for Lottery funding to organise the event, which they hope will raise money for the Yelverton Community Project and the Children's Hospice South West.
In addition to the street party, the fundraisers have booked the Swervy World Musical Cabaret act to entertain during the day — other activities including poetry and painting competitions, balloon racing, fancy dress and games are also in the pipeline.
The group's first fundraising event is a car boot sale in the Leg O'Mutton pub car park on Saturday February 16, beginning at 11am.
A charge of £3 per car, £5 for traders or vans, will be made to start the collection for the jubilee celebrations.
