Tavistock Ladies II 1

Bude 1

TAVISTOCK are really starting to play well together and the start saw good forward moves with Sue Gawman on the wing ably assisted by Lisa Butler.

The Bude defence held firm with strong play. Bude also played good passing hockey but the Tavistock midfield kept them out of the goal area.

Tavistock persistence paid off and Gaynor Pollard was able to put the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead.

Tavistock were instructed to use each other to better effect and to mark the Bude wings more closely. The second half started with fast play. Unfortunately, Anna Johnson had to leave the pitch having hurt her ankle, but Fiona Dunn was able to substitute.

Play was even but the Tavistock defence allowed Bude an attack which resulted in a goal from a well hit strike.

Tavistock piled on the pressure but despite creating chances the winning goal was elusive.
