Okehampton 2
PGSOB A 0
OKEHAMPTON men's hockey team were still a little rusty after the Christmas break and took a while to get into their stride.
Okehampton gradually began to assert their authority and earned a short corner. Clean ball from Sean Glossop gave Reinier Rademaker the chance to open the scoring.
PG's came back with more purpose, but Okehampton's best form of defence was attack.
A free hit from the right came through the crowded D and Simon Garland, unmarked on the far post, picked up the ball deflecting it into the net.
The second half produced a more even contest. Okehampton got back to playing a more open game and caused the PG defence problems. However, the scoring touch seemed to elude them.
This week Okehampton travel to Plymouth and the second team resume their league campaign with a home game against PGOSB D at 11.30am.
