Okehampton 2

Plymouth A 0

OKEHAMPTON men's hockey club had to work hard to break down a stern resistance.

Gaps in the Plymouth midfield gave Okehampton room to move the ball about and they did so with style.

Okehampton kept their discipline well and spread the Plymouth defence around. Eventually pressure was rewarded with short corners and Okehampton converted the second of these.

Sean Glossop's shot was saved and the ball fell to Richard Jones who flicked it into the net to open Okehampton's account.

Okehampton were rarely troubled in defence but when Plymouth did attack Mark Clapham tackled well and with the rest of the defence snuffed out any likelihood of them scoring.

The second half produced a similar pattern with Tim Morgan working hard in midfield to earn his man of the match award.

Okehampton's second goal again came from a short corner but this time Simon Garland followed up to score and secure the three points.

This week Okehampton travel to play Bodmin.
