VISITORS to Hatherleigh this month can enjoy the village's flower festival and open gardens from June 8 to 10.

The Hatherleigh Flower Festival starts on Friday, June 8 in the parish church from 10am to 5pm.

On the Saturday (June 9) the opening times are the same and there will also be music, refreshments and light lunches served in Old Schools all day.

On the Sunday, the festival will open from noon to 5pm and a Songs of Praise will be held in the church at 6pm.

Hatherleigh Open Gardens will also take place on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 from 11am to 5pm. Several gardens will open their gates, including West Fishleigh Kitchen Garden and the town allotments.

Entry to the gardens is by programme, available from Salar Gallery in advance for £3 or from Salar Gallery or Old Schools on the opening days for £4.

All proceeds from the flower festival and open gardens will go to the Hatherleigh Church Buildings Repair Fund for repairs and improvements to Old Schools which is used for many church and community events throughout the year.
