A GARDEN party is being held in a West Devon village this weekend, to help raise money for a village in Ghana. The party, on Saturday, August 20, is being held in Northlew, in aid of a project to build a community centre and library in VE-Koloenu. Steve Rose from Northlew has been trying to raise funds after working in a Guinness bottling plant in Ghana, and is hoping to get the support of the whole of Northlew village. The money raised will help provide services for young people aged between six and 35, allowing them unlimited and equal access to the centre, and boosting school children?s literacy levels. In aid of the project, the party will be held at Elmfield, in the village, with an evening?s entertainment including music, games and dancing, as well as an extensive menu and bar. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the fun. Admission to the event costs just £5.
