DJM U18s Horsham
Keyham Kolts U18s 7
Tavistock Thistles U18s 0
KEYHAM applied most of the early pressure but struggled to break through both the Thistles defence and the quagmire of a pitch, while Thistles played on the counter attack and created a few openings themselves.
Kolts eventually got the breakthrough and at half time led 1-0.
The second half began much like the first, but soon the superior fitness of Keyham started to tell, as Thistles started to wilt and players succumbed to cramp brought on by the heavy conditions.
Keyham took advantage of the gaps that now opened up and pressed home their advantage with six second half goals.

THISTLES were out played from the 20th minute onwards, but they didn't give up.
Goalkeeper George Conybeare put in a good performance, making several exceptional saves.
The Thistles' performance of the day went to Dean Lambert who was outstanding throughout the match and never gave up.
Rory Kirkman played in a new position for him and showed some promise, playing some excellent passes to Kieran Calvert on the right wing.
Despite these performances, Thistles lacked composure and control in the middle of the field.
The team found that the Christmas break had taken its toll later on in the match, with Lipson scoring four goals in the last 15 minutes.

THISTLES started slowly and found themselves a goal down when a collision between two Thistles defenders and a Looe player led to a penalty. Their player of the match, goalkeeper Isaac Jeffery, got his fingers to the ball but could not keep it out.
Thistles spent much of the half defending but missed a superb opportunity to equalise just before the end of the half. The Looe keeper ran outside his box and left the goal wide open. The ball ran right across the penalty area but no Thistles player could reach it in time.
For the second half Thistles changed formation and battled on in what was becoming an increasingly physical game.
Thistles struggled to keep possession all over the pitch and only a string of outstanding saves by Jeffery kept the score down.
The Thistles players sustained a number of injuries and in the end could not prevent Looe from winning in a bruising encounter.
