Duchy Premier Polperro 0 Gunnislake 0 THESE two sides followed up their opening day one all draw with another keenly contested and even encounter. With the wind at their backs Polperro territorially had the better of the first half. But after an early effort had struck the cross bar the hosts found it difficult to create clear openings as the visitors defended well. On the few occasions Polperro did get through they were thwarted by Gunnislake keeper Andy Brenton who was in commanding form. At the other end the visitors created a couple of openings with Matt Avery?s narrowly wide header from a Tom Hall centre being their closest effort. With the wind dropping in the second period an even contest unfolded. Both sides played some decent football but could not trouble the opposing keepers as each team defended superbly. With two minutes remaining the game had to be abandoned as a heavy challenge left Gunnislake midfielder Steff Kelly with a bad leg injury requiring medical treatment. Thankfully the leg was not broken. This Saturday St Mawgan visit Gunnislake for a 2.30pm kick off.
