A GALA evening of music, mirth and magic is being promised at the Athenaeum Theatre in Plymouth next week, which will raise money for the Gables Farm Dogs? and Cats? Home in its centenary year. The show is presented by retired impresario Trevor George and his daughter Anne, and will feature professional artistes, supported by young Plymouth Cubs and the St Austell Male Voice Choir with guest Suzanne Manuell. Topping the bill is singing star Paul Sylvester, seen on TV?s Let Me Entertain You. Leading the laughter will be Mike Swan, while the St Austell choir will be complemented by the glorious voice of mezzo soprano Suzanne Manuell. There will be harpsichord playing by Marsha Head and Ami Lauren, Amber Black and Lisa Walker will pay tribute to American entertainers The Andrews Sisters. There will also be magic and hypnotism from Chris James ? the whole evening being compered by Radio Devon?s Douglas Mounce.
