A TAVISTOCK Hospital outreach programme benefited from a substantial cheque from a local choir.

At their most recent concert held at St Eustachius' Church in Tavistock, the chairman of the Tamar Valley Male Voice Choir, Charles Westlake, presented a cheque for £1,000 to Lesley Gibson the local co-ordinator of the outreach chemotherapy project.

The charity provides funding to enable cancer patients to receive not only their chemotherapy closer to home, but also the support and information that is so vital to patients and their families.

The amount raised by the choir was the direct result of a hugely successful gala concert held in June.
