OKEHAMPTON sports association OCRA is offering a range of children's activities over the Easter holidays. On Wednesday April 11, there is a chance for 11 to 18 year-olds to try horseriding on Dartmoor, while on the same day a World Cup Cricket Camp runs in Okehampton for the town's budding Flintoffs and Pietersons. Friday April 13 sees an OCRA Woodland Adventure taking place at Alder Lake at Lewdown at which children aged eight to 14 can learn to build shelters, cook on a camp fire, kayak, and follow woodland trails. And on Wednesday April 18, there is a choice of a netball or basketball camps for eleven to 18 year-olds at Parklands Leisure Centre. OCRA is also holding sport and art days for children aged six to 14 on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the Easter break. These will offer circus skills, climbing, street dance, mask making, and trampolining. Two hour sport and art sessions will also be offered at Hatherleigh Community Centre (10.30am to 12.30pm) and at Bridestowe Primary School (2pm to 4pm) on Monday April 16. There is no need to book for these events, but places are likely to be limited on the day-long activities in Okehampton, so booking for those is essential.
