A TOTAL of £4,000 was raised for Brentor-based children's charity CHICKS last week thanks to its fun golf day at Trethorne Golf Club near Launceston. Teams entered from across the region to help raise money for the charity, which provides free respite breaks for underprivileged children from across the UK. The team from Trethorne Golf Club, captained by Robin Reip, won the cup, closely followed by the Elfordleigh Golf Club team and Western Power Distribution. The amount raised will enable CHICKS to give five children a well deserved break in the West Country. The day was sponsored by Sprys of Launceston. CHICKS' next local event is a treasure hunt which is due to take place in early October from its base in Brentor.
