WITH the summer coming to an end the music festival season is also coming to a close – though not before North Tawton gets in on the act. The town's rugby club is hosting Tawstock on Saturday, September 6 from 2pm. During the afternoon the event will provide fun for all the family with children's races, bouncy castle, face painting, stalls, a barbecue, inflatable assault course and much more. From 6pm an evening of live music kicks off, with Jordan Hookway, Sam Dowden, Jodie Ford, Phil Andrews and DJ Rob Mitchell among those confirmed to be performing. Throughout the day older visitors can enjoy a beer festival being run at the event by North Tawton Rugby Club. The festival, the first of its kind in North Tawton, has been organised to raise funds for North Tawton Pre-School. The pre-school is a community based charity offering education and care for children between two and half years old to five years old within the Early Years Foundation Unit at North Tawton Primary School. The pre-school is run by a committee of volunteers and team of staff and is a non-profit organisation. To find out more, visit the Tawstock Family Festival Fun Day page on Facebook.
