PONY grooming and pond dipping are some of the activities on offer at a celebratory event for registered childminders from West Devon at the Original Miniature Pony Centre this month. The Devon Child Minding Association, which provides support, training, advice and information, is celebrating 21 years of working with childminders this year and is holding a series of fun days across the county with the theme ?Wild about Devon?. The event at the pony centre at North Bovey will be on Tuesday, June 19 and other activities for childminders and children in their care will include helping to feed the animals and a birds of prey display. Spokesperson Paula Honeychurch-Hann said young children?s perception and appreciation of the cultures of others started with their own communities, and the ?Wild about Devon? theme would provide the opportunity for them to explore a variety of exciting local experiences first hand.
