A LOCAL food event with a difference is being organised by food producers from across West Devon.

'Eat the Devon Way' will be held at Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre near Lifton and will feature more than 80 stalls of local produce, as well as live music, festivities and activities for all the family. The event will be held over the bank holiday weekend on Sunday May 29 and Monday May 30.

With a maximum of two producers of each product type, there will be a greater variety of produce on offer than at other food events. There will also be a variety of cooking demonstrations and a party, to allow chefs and buyers to meet with producers in an informal setting.

It is hoped the event will not only promote excellent local produce, but will also raise much needed funds for Children's Hospice South West, thanks to the time and effort of local producers and the support of Waitrose.

The event is being organised by passionate food producers Hi-T's Fudge, Yarty Valley Cordials and Langage Farm.
