BRIDESTOWE will have its very own calendar for 2004.

But villagers have not been taking their clothes off ?Calendar Girls?-style to pose before the camera. Instead they have collected an assortment of photographs that reflect their village and the parish.

The calendar is about to hit the streets and will raise money for Bridestowe, Lydford and Sourton Pre-School and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Organisers hope the calendar will appeal to local businesses as a means of promoting the wonderful qualities of the area in which they operate.

Alison Young and Rex Haythornwaite, who put the project together with the help and support of the printing company, Victoria Office Equipment, based in Bristol, would like to thank those who kindly submitted photographs.

Alison said: ?The only thing that is keeping me awake at night is the worry that no one will buy it but we are cheered by the numbers of people who have shown an interest. It should make a handsome Christmas gift and of course, its uniqueness has an appeal.?

The calendar will be available from next week from the White Hart, Bridestowe, from Glebe Park (Bridestowe Caravan Park) and other village outlets and costs £4.50.

If you have any difficulty getting hold of a copy, please telephone Alison on 01837 861157.
