IT WAS a tuneful fundraiser when Lewdown Young Farmers took part in a piano-run recently, raising money for the Pirate Trust. The young farmers turned out in force armed with buckets, an old piano and wearing Country and Western gear, before starting the real challenge of pushing the piano for ten miles. Fiona Southcott, a member of Lewdown Young Farmers? Club said: ?We raised about £200 in the buckets and in the region of £800 in sponsorship. ?We started the push from the Fox and Hounds in Bridestowe and pushed it to the Arundul Arms in Lifton, which is about ten miles. ?We got the piano from the Blue Lion, but it doesn?t work anymore. We took it down to the farm afterwards and it went up in flames and we had a barbecue, as the pub didn?t want it anymore?. The young farmers will be putting all the money raised into the Pirate Trust. The charity which was founded by Pirate FM, raises money for young people and children in the South West.
