MY husband and I enjoyed a spring visit to Devon and were impressed with the friendliness of people in Tavistock. I am particularly grateful for help offered in my search for information about my ancestors, including families Bartlett, Rickard and Roberts of Tavistock and Calstock. A Tavistock Museum volunteer directed me to Tavistock Library where I found the 1813 marriage record of Ann Bartlett and John Roberts, verifying part of oral family history about my England ancestor, John Bartlett, who came to America in 1795.
