A WEST Devon youngster whose BMX bike was stolen a few weeks ago, is back on the road, thanks to the generosity of a friend.

Christopher Kirby had his BMX stolen from outside the Alexander Centre in Tavistock, where he had locked it overnight. When he returned the following morning the bike had gone.

But a generous friend from Christopher's scout group has donated her bike to him.

Christopher's mother, Emma, said: 'When Christopher, who has special needs, returned to the Alexander Centre the following morning and the bike wasn't there, he was devastated. Unfortunately, the bike was never found.

'Christopher has been so lost without his bike, until a bike was given to him by his friend, Tasha Langton, who is in the same scout group.'

Tasha had thought of Christopher as she was given a new bike for her birthday.?She asked her mother if Christopher could have her old bike.

'Christopher was so pleased and could not thank Tasha enough for the bike.

'Now Christopher is starting to gain his confidence again, which is very important to him and me.

'Tasha doesn't realise how grateful we both are to her. Now I have a very happy boy, so I am a happy mum. Thank you Tasha!'
