CRICKET'S Lancaster Trophy Final is being held tomorrow (Friday) at Tavistock Cricket Club starting at 6pm.

This year's final is being contested by defending champions Tavistock and Chagford.

Tavistock beat Buckland in the second round and fought off a stern challenge from Hatherleigh in their semi-final.

Chagford beat Belstone and last year's runners-up Lewdown in the semi-final (see report below).

The final promises to be an exciting affair and if it is as good as last year's will prove to be a fine example of the sporting prowess and sportsmanship of all the clubs in the West Devon Borough.

The mayor of West Devon, Cllr Christine Grills, will be present to award the trophies and medals.
