FIRE crews were called to a traffic collision on the A30 eastbound between Okehampton and Whiddon Down on Saturday, at around 6.20pm.

Three crews from Okehampton and North Tawton attended. The collision involved a car and a horse box and one person was trapped in the car.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the casualty, who was transferred to hospital by air ambulance.
