SHOPPERS will be able to take advantage of free parking in Tavistock during August and September, thanks to the town's Business Improvement District (BID).

The free parking will be valid after 3pm, Monday to Wednesday throughout August and September in the town's car parks located in Brook Street, Russell Street and Bank Square. This comes as a follow on from a trial run in March.

Lisa Wadling, Tavistock BID Manager said: 'This was one of the top rated projects in the BID business plan so I'm very happy that we can now put it into action and deliver it for the BID levy payers. We will monitor the uptake and will be able to see what impact this has on trade for the town.'
